“You have a beautiful province, the cities are clean and it’s peaceful,” says Laurice Butts of Watertown, Massachusetts USA.

Butts was in the province last week with fellow Rotarians from the District 7910 of Massachusetts for a group study exchange and paid a visit to the Office of the Provincial Governor.

The lady Rotarian who is in marketing and a public relations specialist in the US finds ZaNorte a province contrary to what they learned through information gathered before their visit. She said their group enjoyed a tour in the cities of Dipolog and Dapitan and a few places in the outskirts.

In a quick peek at the pictures of the different tourist destinations in the province displayed at the Provincial Tourism Office Butts vowed to come back and see all those places especially the white island beaches, the caves and waterfalls.

The group of Rotarians was in the province to know the culture of ZaNortehanons and to observe the economic activities of the place.

“Excel in your studies without drops and failing grades.” This was the challenge of Assistant Department Head/OIC-PSWDO, Ms. Grace Marylen B. Sabal to ZaNorte scholars during the Distribution of School Uniform Allowance Tuesday, January 20, 2009 at the Convention Center & Exhibition Center, Dipolog City.

Speaking before the 198 scholars, Sabal said, ‘live up to the expectations of being a ZaNorte scholar. “They should study hard to achieve their dreams in life and the only key to that are just them,” Sabal said in her message.

Education, she said, is the only capital a person can have that can never be stolen. She also reminded the scholars to remember of the people who molded and assisted them all the way to become the person they want to be.
