Neurologists invade ZaNorte for a free medical mission |

Expert neurologists from the Philippine Neurological Association (PNA) basing in Cebu City are invading Zamboanga del Norte in a two-day medical outreach mission, voluntarily giving their services on July 4 and 5. This was announced by Dr. Regil Bael, Rural Health Physician of the provincial government in an interview. The medical team will be headed by Dra. Victoria P. Bael who will conduct hospital rounds at the old provincial hospital in Brgy. Biasong on July 4 to diagnose patients who may be suffering disorders of the nervous system such as those who have severe headache, migraine, bel’s palsy, insomnia, epileptic and other neurological disorders. On that same day, the team will also conduct a seminar about neurological services that will be participated in by members of the Dipolog Medical Society, nurses and hospital personnel. |

Gov. Yebes eyes ZMC as most outstanding hospital in Mindanao |

Governor Rolando E. Yebes is looking into the possibility that Zamboanga del Norte Medical Center (ZMC) will stand out as the most modern and superb provincial hospital in the whole of Mindanao if it will fully operate. Gov. Yebes gave weight to ZMC’s potential to be one since it is one of the biggest apart from its being modern. This was confidently stressed recently by the governor during its latest consultation meeting with hospital doctors for a possible full opening of the hospital. “It has been a constant query of when the said medical center will finally open and I do not want ZaNorteans to endlessly wait long and doubt whether ZMC will fully operate or not.” |

132,000 NFA rice for ZaNorte in 3 months |

The National Food Authority continues to strengthen its measures in combating rice shortage in ZaNorte as it announced Thursday, June 19, its additional allocation of 132,000 sacks of rice for the province. In a special press conference NFA Regional Director Ernesto Macasinag and Gov. Rolando E. Yebes confirmed that it will arrive in the province in three months time. According to the governor, President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo has continuously finding ways to improve the rice crisis situation in the country and that the allocated number of sacks for the province intends to rally round underprivileged ZaNorteans into buying a cheaper kilo of rice. It was learned that 40,000 NFA rice will be given to the province every month. NFA is now calling on consumers to buy NFA authorized outlets only such as the Bigasang Bayan sa Palengke and LGUs. |
